Katherine E. Weber

Katherine E. Weber is a partner with the law firm of Messick & Weber P.C. Her practice includes the representation of Credit Unions, Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSOs), small businesses and real estate clients.

Katherine attended Syracuse University for her undergraduate education. At Syracuse, she held a variety of positions in the student government, as well as the university government. Katherine continues to be a “true blue” orange woman by serving as a Philadelphia area Alumni Representative.

Katherine graduated from the New England School of Law with the honor of Dean's List. While in law school, Katherine interned with the Charities Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. Katherine’s focus on representing financial institutions commenced while in Boston where she worked for a law firm which represented lenders providing secured financing.

Subsequent to law school, Katherine located to Connecticut where she worked in private practice for a firm specializing in the representation of lenders in commercial real estate transactions. Katherine’s love for the Philadelphia area brought her back in the fall of 1998. Prior to joining Messick & Weber P.C., Katherine was in-house counsel for a local corporation where she handled the legal aspects of purchasing and leasing property for the corporation’s use, including negotiating and preparing leases and agreements of sale.

At Messick & Weber, P.C., Katherine has continued serving clients in the real estate transactions and small business matters. Primarily, however, her focus has shifted to representing Credit Unions and CUSOs in matters such as CUSO formation, offering non-traditional financial products, loan participation agreements, business lending/services and compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Katherine has accepted invitations to speak with credit unions and credit union trade organizations on various Credit Union and CUSO topics such as CUSO 101, the evolving Credit Union/CUSO environment, privacy, and loan participations.

Katherine is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, Supreme Court of New Jersey and Superior Court of Connecticut. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Delaware County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Katherine serves on the Community Outreach Committee for the Delaware County Bar Association and the Credit Unions Committee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.
